The Mayo Clinic has been labeled a "Medical Mecca," the "Supreme Court of Medicine," and a "haven for hope where there is none." After a tornado in1883, the Sisters of Saint Francis and William Worrall Mayo formed the Mayo Clinic. Since then, it's treated over a million patients from all 50 states and 150 countries. Dr. Mayo taught Will and Charlie that "the patient comes first." They'd treat people, not diseases. The Mayo Clinic utilizes a multi-specialty, team-based strategy that has fostered collaboration since its founding.
