The Keeping Room
In this radically reimagined American Western set near the end of the Civil War, Southerner Augusta meets two renegade, drunken soldiers on a mission of pillage and violence. Augusta rushes back to the isolated farmhouse she shares with her sister Louise and their female slave Mad after escaping an attempted assassination. When the two soldiers track Augusta down with the intent of exacting vengeance, the three women are forced to take up arms to defend their home––and themselves––as the escalating attacks become more unpredictable and relentless.
