The Guardians
Nina, 15, witnesses a heinous crime that puts her life in danger. She has no one she can trust because she is an orphan. When corrupt businessman Thomas Backer dispatches five assassins after Nina, witness protection officer Max, a former special-forces soldier, is in charge of her protection. They quickly overcome their initial gap to find common ground. While on the run from the ruthless Backer, Rudi, one of Max's former comrades, comes to their aid – and continues to assist the two in a variety of perilous situations. Even Max's ex-girlfriend Sara, who works as a federal prosecutor, isn't just there to help him. Nonetheless, Nina and Max face increasing danger, and soon the teenager will not be the only one in need of a guardian angel – Max, too, could benefit from one.
