A new mayor of Middleton, Martha (Disher), is taking advantage of her position to collect money for the Middleton Botanical Gardens by enlisting her to chair the silent auction. One of the first things Audrey (Wilson) does when she arrives in town is stop by Cassie's bookstore Bell, Book & Candle, where the two quickly become friends. To help out with the store, Cassie hired Audrey as a new employee, and she even stepped in to help Cassie plan the auction. When donated auction goods go missing, suspicion falls on Audrey, who is trying to keep her background a secret.
