To the dismay of her best friend, reporter Pete Dawes, who has a crush on her, Secretary Marilyn "Lynn" David falls in love with British aristocrat Charles Gray Granville. Pete Dawes is in a covert relationship with Marilyn. When Pete finds out that Gray has caused Lynn pain, he decides to write an article in which he portrays Lynn as a "No Girl" who turned down the proposal of marriage from a cold-hearted nobleman. But when the exposure brings Lynn unanticipated popularity and Gray returns, she is forced to choose between the two men because she has been romantically involved with both of them.
