After a lot of violence in the city nears Jake's home, his parents buy a campground in rural Minnesota and move the whole family there. Jake doesn't like living at the campground until he meets Peter, the boy across the river, and he likes him right away. It doesn't take long for the two to become best friends. They spend a fun summer on the river together. Peter tells Jake about his faith in Christ during one of their talks, and Jake likes it. Jake uses his new faith to help a friend who had a bad thing happen to them.
