The Circus
A wandering tramp named Charlie works as a circus handyman and falls in love with the circus owner's daughter. The girl falls in love with a handsome young performer, unaware of Charlie's feelings for her. Charlie's versatility makes him the star of the show when he fills in for an injured tightwire walker. He is fired from the company after protecting the girl from her abusive father, but he returns and begs the handsome performer to marry the girl. Following the wedding, the father persuades them to rejoin the circus. Charlie is hired again, but this time he stays behind when the caravan departs.
