The Catered Affair

Jane reveals at breakfast that she and Ralph will marry the following week. Jane and Ralph only want a simple wedding with their closest friends and family and no reception. Jane's parents are impoverished, thus Jane and Ralph will be able to borrow a car for their honeymoon. However, all Ralph's parents talk about during dinner that night is the lavish weddings they gave their daughters, and things quickly escalate. Suddenly, there are hundreds of people at a large wedding breakfast. The problem is that Tom has been saving for a cab and license for the past 12 years, but now that he has them, he is spending all of his money on a wedding that neither he, Jane, nor Ralph desire.
