Three stories taken from the writings of Edgar Allen Poe are presented here: 1) A man and his daughter are reunited, but the burden of responsibility for the death of his wife continues to loom over them. 2) A destitute challenges the local wine-tasting champion to a competition, but the man's attention to his wife is deserving of more dramatic action, as the derelict believes. 3) A dying man who is in excruciating pain accepts to be hypnotized at the moment of his death, which has unanticipated ramifications.
