Captain Canine, from the planet Inspiron, is the commander of the space cruiser Megasis. He is Commander Drex's mortal nemesis. Megasis is tasked with the responsibility of protecting Princess Jorala and the Five Power Rings from Drex. She conceals the rings on the planet Earth and assumes the form of a German Shepherd, intending to remain in very deep cover. Adopted and christened Captain Canine by promising teenage comic book artist Ian Shaeffer, he spends 16 happy years on Earth while Ian narrates his interstellar experiences.
