When one of his patients is found killed, Dr. Sam Rice, a psychiatrist, is contacted by the investigating officer, but he refuses to provide any information to the investigator. Brooke Reynolds, the patient's mistress, pays him a visit, and he finds himself falling in love with her despite the fact that she is a possible murder suspect. As the police pressure on Rice grows more intense, he decides to take matters into his own hands and soon realizes that someone is attempting to assassinate him as well.
