Trying to break into East Berlin's music scene, Sunny is the front woman of a band called "Sunny." However, despite their regular performances in tiny towns, Sunny is disconnected from the audience and from the rest of her life. After meeting the unfaithful and death-obsessed amateur saxophone and philosopher Ralph, she decides that he is not the right man for her. An argument with another band member and an outburst at the show host result in her being kicked out of the band. After being abandoned, she tries to reclaim her life.
