Lambert, a burned-out case, works the night shift at a gas station, never speaks, lives alone, and drinks. Bensoussan, raised in foster care and now a small-time pusher for a bar owner named Rashid, arrives at the station in need of a spark plug for a stolen Moped. He and Lambert strike up a conversation, and they go out for a drink a few days later. The young man is too brazen, and after stealing Rashid's expensive motorcycle a few times, he's expendable. Lambert decides to avenge the young man and seeks information from Lola, a punk who knew Bensoussan. She pierces Lambert's shell with surprising tenacity; he begins to feel again, tells Lola his story, and discovers a new zest for life.
