After a confrontation with her dying mother, Jennifer, a self-absorbed girl falls into a nearby homeless shelter by accident late one night. Jennifer's father issues an ultimatum in an attempt to teach her responsibility and compassion by requiring her to volunteer at a homeless shelter. Through this unique experience, Jennifer forms an odd bond with both the staff and a very special little guest, which leads her to a better understanding that the actual meaning of Christmas is love and family.
