San Demetrio London
This British drama documentary from 1943 is based on the true story of the tanker MV San Demetrio, which was set on fire by the German heavy cruiser Admiral Scheer in the middle of the Atlantic and then left to sink. Parts of the ship's own crew found and saved the ship after it had been abandoned and set on fire. The next day, one of the lifeboats drifted back to the burning tanker. When they saw that it hadn't exploded yet, they decided to get on board and put out the fires. They finally got the engine going again and decided to try to get to Britain no matter what.
