When I first met him, Mr. Hoppy was a reclusive, elderly man who lives alone in an apartment complex. The woman who lives below him has been his hidden love for many years. The only time Mr. Hoppy will speak to Mrs. Silver is when he leans over his balcony railing and smiles politely at her. Mr. Hoppy wants to tell Mrs. Silver how much he cares, but he can't bring himself to put the words on his lips. As a pet turtle owner, Mrs. Silver is quite attached to her little Alfie. At some point during the course of their time together, Mrs. Silver notes to Mr. Hoppy that despite the fact that she's had Alfie for many years, the pet has only gained 3 ounces in weight. Alfie has grown to be quite the tortoise, and she admits that she wishes there was a way she could help him become a much more respectable creature. As luck would have it, Mr. Hoppy has an idea on how to grant Mrs. Silver's wish and earn her affections at the same time!
