Ripley's Game
In the Veneto, Tom Ripley lives in a villa with his harpsichord-playing girlfriend Luisa, who is sophisticated, urbane, affluent, and homicidal. A former business associate from Berlin's underworld contacts Ripley and asks for his assistance in assassinating a rival. Ever the student of human nature, Ripley sets up a game in which he attempts to transform a gentle and innocent neighborhood picture framer into an assassin. With his wife and little boy in tow, Jonathan Trevanny's dying disease has left him with little to give them. Is it possible for Ripley to maintain control if she drags Jonathan into the game. Will there be a halt after a single murder? Was there any chance that Ripley would gain a conscience at some point in time?
