By way of explanation, a woman sideswipes Mike's automobile before launching herself out of the studio's windows in an eerie sequence of events Later that night, Mike intervenes to save an action movie star from a bar fight. This in turn leads to the actor befriending and then eventually hiring Mike's wife, which leads to the two of them initiating business deals together on their next movie project. Then, everything turns sour at once, and Mike's debts rise to the point where fighting is his only alternative.
