Jackson Slate, a famed treasure hunter, is searching for the legendary Lost Gold Of Cortez off a Caribbean island. In the process of clearing decades of silt, fresh chasms are produced miles beneath the ancient ocean floor. An ancient evil is unleashed, destroying Jackson's boat and killing his crew without warning. Jackson, the sole survivor of the massacre, returns to the scene with Sarah, a marine biologist.
