Young people David and Sarah flee across the desert after their caravan is assaulted by Arab marauders, who slaughter their parents and siblings in their respective homes. The desert, on the other hand, is replete with peril from the elements, from animals, and from the unwholesome appetite of the Jackal, a sheik who is after Sarah for his own gain. The desert, on the other hand, is a place of temptation and love. David and Sarah take refuge in an oasis and begin to establish a life for themselves, all the while learning more about each other.
