Before the 1960s were over, Marcus was a Black Panther. When he came back to Philadelphia in 1976 and saw Pat, a widow of a Panther leader, he was happy to see her. Marcus makes friends with Pat's young daughter and tries to get rid of his own problems. When Marcus wants to do good things for his neighborhood, things like racial and social tensions keep getting in the way.
