Nazarin
As the story unfolds, we learn that Nazarn is the priest who deserts his order to undertake the journey of a lifetime. While living off charity, he takes in a prostitute on the run for murder and provides for her until the police arrive. Eventually, after she manages to get out of jail, she finds a way to rejoin him and they become inseparable. Soon, a second woman joins the pair, and the former priest finds himself learning more about the human condition than he ever did when cloaked in sacred garments.
