The Yunagaya Domain in the Tohoku region is a tiny han during the tenure of the eighth shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate. However, there is a gold mine in the han. Orders to complete Sankin-kotai within five days are unexpectedly given to Masaatsu Naito, a sage of the Yunagaya Domain. In accordance with the tradition of Sankin-kotai, a daimyo must pay a visit to the shogun in Edo. Unfortunately, Masaatsu Naito will have to wait 8 days to pay a visit to the shogun in Edo. Masaatsu Naito also discovers that he was given the order because a high-ranking government official desires the gold mine he has stumbled across. It's also difficult to construct the Sankin-kotai due to its enormous cost and the size of Yunagaya Domain. Despite this, Masaatsu Naito sets out to complete Sankin-kotai in just five days, despite the fact that he has never done anything like this before.
