Maya, a newly hatched bee, is a bit of a whirlwind and refuses to follow the rules of the hive. One of these regulations is to not trust the hornets that inhabit the area beyond the meadow. When the Royal Jelly is stolen, the hornets are implicated, and Maya is believed to be a conspirator. No one thinks that she is the victim of no wrongdoing, and no one will defend her but her good-natured and closest buddy Willy. After a lengthy and eventful trek to the hornets' nest, Maya and Willy quickly find the genuine perpetrator, and the two friends ultimately form a link with the other inhabitants of the lush meadow.
