Wayne Dobie is a reticent police officer whose low-key manner has earned him the endearing moniker "Mad Dog." After saving the life of mafia leader and aspiring stand-up comedian Frank Milo, Mad Dog is offered a week with a beautiful female waitress named Glory. Both are first uncomfortable with the arrangement, but they gradually fall in love. However, complications arise when Milo demands Glory's return.
