Lou Reed & John Cale: Songs for Drella
Songs for Drella is a concept album by Lou Reed and John Cale, both of The Velvet Underground, dedicated to Andy Warhol, who died unexpectedly in 1987. Drella, a portmanteau of Dracula and Cinderella, was Warhol's crowd's moniker. The song cycle concentrates on Warhol's interpersonal relations and experiences, with songs falling into three categories: Warhol's first-person perspective, third-person narratives chronicling events and affairs, and Reed and Cale's first-person reflections on Warhol. Songs on the CD are mostly in order.
