The question is, how do 1.1 billion people in the globe survive on less than a dollar a day? Four young pals set out to investigate and experience this world firsthand. They travel to rural Pena Blanca, Guatemala, with nothing but a video camera and a desire to learn more about the culture. They spend only 56 dollars per person over the course of 56 days. Aside from the battle against E. Coli, they are dealing with financial stress and the knowledge that there are no quick solutions. Despite this, the kindness and strength of their neighbors, Rosa, Anthony, and Chino, provides them with a source of steadfast optimism. It is their duty to return home transformed and to share their newfound understanding with other kids, encouraging and challenging them to make a difference in their communities.
