Brian Cohen is an ordinary teenage Jew who becomes known as the Messiah after a sequence of absurd incidents. Not only does Brian have to dodge his own followers, but also the pretentious Pontius Pilate and the acronym-obsessed members of an independent movement. Monty Python's typical absurdity is evident throughout the story, which depicts Brian's life as if it were a parody of the Bible.
