When she visits her grandfather's property in the quaint town of Valleyville, Washington, to take care of the formalities, she is shocked to discover that he has left her his farm, as well as a substantial amount of debt. Emma must find a way to raise the money she needs to keep the bank from foreclosing, or else she will be forced to watch as her grandfather's valuable land is turned into a parking lot. Emma intends to carry on her grandfather's illustrious tradition by entering Valleyville's annual pumpkin growing contest with his precious seeds and setting a world record for the largest gourd ever grown. If she is successful in winning the $50,000 grand prize, she will be able to save the farm.
