Gibby
Katie, a young teenage girl who has recently lost her mother, is unable to snap out of her sorrow. Gymnastics, school, and her friends have all lost their appeal to Katie. In the summer, she is asked to monkey-sit Gibby, the Capuchin monkey owned by her science instructor, and her life is transformed. It has a significant impact on her life that she takes care of the monkey. Katie's positive outlook on life is rekindled by Gibby's upbeat personality. Among other things, Gibby assists Katie with gymnastics, friendship renewal (with the prospect of finding a suitable boyfriend), and conquering her enemy, a spiteful girl who is determined to beat Katie at everything.
