Squirrel Frankie returns to his woodland after escaping a rehabilitation zoo. Cody, a porcupine and street con, tells him that when he was in prison, The A.C.O.R.N.S. Institute went through the forest and picked it clean (Alternative Cosmetic Oils for Regenerative Natural Skin-care). There was not a single acorn to be found. It's a potentially devastating blow to all forest creatures as winter approaches. In order to reclaim the acorns, Frankie has no choice except to break into the new, state-of-the-art, rodent-proof ACORN Processing Plant. Success in the robbery would not only save the lives of his forest pals, but it would also allow Frankie a chance to reclaim the love of his life, Lola, a "show squirrel" in the local community. There have been too many empty promises from Frankie in the past for Lola to trust him this time.
