They are expecting their first kid, Mark and Olivia, a young American couple. However, first and foremost on their list is a trip to Europe. Through an online platform, they arrange for private lodging for their four-week journey. As soon as they get in Germany, Elisabeth meets them there. It turns out that she is the daughter of the landlady of Mark and Olivia's first place of residence, a modest house on the shore of a beautiful lake in the hometown of Olivia's great-grandparents. In the hospital, they learn that the 82-year-old landlady's dying. Elisabeth takes Mark and Olivia to the residence. That night will be their first in Germany as well.
