El analfabeto
Inocencio Prieto y Calvo gets a letter in the mail informing him that he is the heir to the two million peso inheritance that his uncle left behind. Due to the fact that he is illiterate, he has no idea who the letter was addressed to or what was written in it. The only person who can read the letter to him is the pharmacist at the local pharmacy, so he goes there. However, while he is standing there waiting to be assisted, he notices that a young girl can read. He believes that he must be able to figure out what the letter is about on his own, so he makes the decision to put the letter away, go to school, and wait to read the letter on his own once he has finished school.
