One of the poorest families in the Czech Republic, Selma struggles to support herself and her son, who also has a genetic disease and will be blinded unless a costly treatment is performed. At such times when things are too tough for her, Selma finds solace in her love of Broadway musicals that she is able to temporarily forget about her problems by making up her own songs to the beats of her surroundings.
