The actual story of Carolyn Raeburn's 16-year-old daughter who graduated from high school. Laura was bright, popular, and optimistic about the future, but an event occurred the summer before she was to begin college, irrevocably altering her and her family's lives. Laura stayed at a country boarding ranch to learn to ride horses. And it was then that she entered a universe ruled by a weird and scary woman who took over Laura's consciousness. She had been trained to take the place of the woman's deceased daughter. Carolyn spent the next five years of her life, a large portion of her sanity, and over half a million dollars attempting to reclaim her daughter.
