Stella has tried to ignore her deepest longings for years, but now she can't anymore. Stella becomes a "unicorn," which is a nickname for single women who live a hedonistic lifestyle by going to sex clubs and erotic parties and thrive with all the new attention. Stella breaks out of her cage and starts a secret double life. Stella's husband finds out about her secret life, but he can't do much more than give her the freedom she clearly needs, hoping it's just a phase. Then, one day, she wakes up in a basement cell, unconscious and not sure how she got there. After a few days, another woman comes to her cell. Christine, a woman of about the same age. In the days that follow, they tell each other about their lives. Christine is sure that Stella's way of life is the reason why they are being held captive.
