Berlin in the summertime. Three twenty-somethings: Maria and Niels, two Berliners, and Chlo, a British student. They go headfirst into a freewheeling and chaotic love affair with one other as they libidinously wander about Berlin. They enjoy life to the fullest, grabbing anything they want. Their only guide seemed to be the pleasure they share–which is fine until Chlo unintentionally falls pregnant. Now comes the insecurity, rage, envy, and mistrust. Abortion is a planned procedure that is turned down. Who gets to say what, when, and how? Their odd trio disintegrates, and their once-balanced connection morphs into shifting constellations of two, until it appears that a perilous equilibrium can be restored, if only for a brief period. Is their utopia within grasp, or is this just a lull in the action? It takes a lot of effort to love differently. Maria, Niels, and Chlo will catch the world off guard. They're not either.
