In Johannesburg, South Africa, in the 1960s, there was a White enclave. Molly Roth,13, is the daughter of socialist parents, and she must piece together what is going on around her when her father goes missing one night, just escaping imprisonment, and her mother is jailed by the government not long after. Molly's White acquaintances turn against her, and her family's Black friendships take on new significance. In the context of apartheid, relationships are delicate. Will she be able to cope?
