Kate Holiday, a hard-working bakery owner, has more cookie orders than she can fill this holiday season, and when her boyfriend abruptly breaks up with her, any semblance of Christmas joy she had clutching vanishes. After hanging the final ornament on the tree and retiring for the night, Kate awakens the next morning to a little of Christmas enchantment. She receives the shock of her life when Chip, a dashing soldier who may or may not be Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" Nutcracker Prince, comes in her living room.
