But despite his great success with three books written under the pen name Gabriel August, Liam Bradley (Dylan Bruce) remains enigmatic to his legions of fans. It's clear to a sweet but honest journalist who reviews books, Sophie Atkinson (Amy Acker), that Liam has grown disenchanted with writing purely for romantic fantasy. They start dating in Sophie's hometown of Portland, Oregon, where Liam is looking for inspiration for his latest novel. But Sophie is unaware of Gabriel August's public character, so Liam's agency puts him on the spot. The more Liam avoids telling her the truth, the bigger his hole gets.
