After shedding his friend Charlie on Christmas Eve, Bobby Whiteside ventures out onto the lake where they played games of winter hockey. Upon shoveling the ice surface he finds a magic, completely groomed hockey rink that appears only in the evening in his presence. When a growth company starts buying lake frontage, Bobby joins forces with his senior high school crush to rally the community to play one last video game on the evening fish pond.
