The goal is to get rid of the 13 Demons of the Apocalypse from the Realm of Darkhaven, so it can be used again. They think it's just an urban legend and decide to play. They don't know that the 13 Demons are walking the Earth disguised as humans right now, but they do. Slowly, the game eats them up, making them think they are "The Golden Paladins," and that they are on a holy mission to save the world. There have been a lot of local deaths caused by tree branches, baseball bats, and hammers that were used by attackers who were wearing body armor. The thin line between reality and fantasy is broken, and the horrifying realization that they are way out of their depth sinks in quickly.
